Baffles me how people become so detached from their own community, the reason they even exist, to reach this point. Its really not that hard to adapt and support community needs instead of becoming a tyranny. The only answer i have is burn out, and if its true they should quit

Valve has announced that physical Steam Gift Cards will no longer be restocked at stores around the world because scammers have been abusing them for years.
Stores will sell out of their existing stock by the end of 2026, but any physical cards you already own or buy before then will still work perfectly and can be redeemed on Steam accounts with no problems.
Digital gift cards remain fully available on Steam

100% this, leaks cause so much more damage than people realize. I keep reading "Well X company isn't doing it so the leakers may as well" it's so backwards, the companies aren't doing it because it's damn near wasted effort.
Leaks piss me off tbh. Devs should be able to showcase their work the way it was intended. Nothing beats the feeling and excitement from a game reveal during a showcase or surprise video drop from a game team. Not from user gamerdudexboxgod11 on a random thread for clout.
