14 years ago, the Affordable Care Act was signed into law expanding access to healthcare for millions of Americans. Thanks to the ACA, Americans across WA and the nation have gained coverage, pre-existing conditions are protected, and preventative care is far more accessible!

Governor Newsom, Governor Kotek, and I launched a new West Coast Health Alliance today to ensure residents remain protected by science, not politics. The Trump Administration has undermined the independence of the CDC and dismantled its vaccine panel. We're beginning the process to provide evidence-based recommendations regarding who should receive immunizations and to help ensure the public has credible information. Science drives our public health policy in Washington.

Washington is among the states hit hardest by cuts from President Trump and the MAGA Congress. The most vulnerable will lose their coverage or even lose services at their closest hospital. These cuts will be felt by all Washingtonians.

Everyone deserves affordable health care. Washington will stand with our partners across the country against the Trump administration’s efforts to strip away people’s health care. Reversing this unlawful rule will help thousands of Washingtonians hold on to their health coverage.
Congress passed the Affordable Care Act in 2010 to increase the number of Americans with health insurance and decrease the cost of health care. And it’s worked – the uninsured rate in Washington dropped by about 10 percentage points from 2011 to 2023. But now, the Trump administration has pushed through a change that will make it harder for people to enroll and keep their health insurance. Our office has joined a multistate coalition challenging the legality of the rule and asking a court to block it. Read more: atg.wa.gov/news/news-release…

We await your response to these cuts Governor. Will #Washington cover the gap and ensure #NoMedicaidCuts or will we see a huge spike in uninsurance and preventable deaths in our state?
250,000 Washingtonians will lose Medicaid due to MAGA Congress’s Big Betrayal of a bill. It’s possibly the worst legislation I’ve seen in 20 years of politics.

Governor, we need to hear your plan for what we will do if these cuts happen. Will Apple Health be cut? Will we raise the revenue necessary at state level to maintain the same coverage? Will we allow these children to be uncovered? We need strong leadership to get through this.
Medicaid touches health care in every stage of life, for Washingtonians in every corner of our state. Federal cuts to Medicaid would be felt by all Washingtonians, regardless of ZIP code or party affiliation.

I never met Cody directly - we only observed each other as candidates running at the same time within the same party on very similar values. I was inspired to see someone so young so active in his community. Farewell Cody.

This is true, and it wasn’t just Bernie. It was the progressive left in general. Elected officials made a conscious decision to associate themselves closely with Biden that ended up being completely disastrous. They didn’t understand where their own appeal came from.
Replying to @ettingermentum
I think Bernie throwing all his weight behind Biden absolutely tanked his “outsider” feeling that caused many to support him

This is one of the biggest political mistakes I made in the last few years: I thought that it made sense in terms of long term strategy for elected leftist pols to play an insider game with Dems. That turned out to be wrong.
