RealSDiSo Nah. CardAficionado just wants actual ownership, not Panini’s escrow-remint theater where they lock the original and mint a duplicate on “public” chain while keeping control.
Smart money skips the training wheels. Immutable native public chain real licenses = baseline for anything worth stacking long-term.
Yes, correct. Admin resources handle minting, creating/retiring sets & editions—not user transfers or ownership. Those run on the standard NonFungibleToken interface via each collector’s own Collection resource in their account.
If Dapper lost admin access, P2P transfers and basic transactions would continue independently on Flow.
The design still embeds team control for key operations (plus past upgrades like Market V3), which is why it doesn’t fully satisfy criterion #2’s immutability & no-control-dependencies standard.
This has come up a few times.
What would it take for me to buy a Panini NFT again?
1. Public blockchain native product - no escrow mechanism, no private blockchain duplicate from a remint.
2. Immutable smart contract with no control dependencies on Panini accounts, approvals, or infrastructure. I'm totally fine with royalties.
3. Fully licensed sports product with the OG serial number design or something more attractive than the current iteration.
I could be flexible on #1 if they started to burn the private blockchain NFT as part of the remint process.
I went into the store with the intention of getting 5 of these packs on the secondary. This was pack 1, but because I am an OG card dork I had to buy the other four still. No other heat, but I know the rules.
cardaficionado just pulled the jersey serial of Caitlin Clark

👀 Quick update for @CandyDigital fans,
I just checked in with our CTO and he says that everything is going very well and he anticipates initiating the Solana mint in the next 24 hours, after which our best guess is that Solana will require up to a week to complete the migration. Fans will be able to see the progression of their own assets by logging into their accounts. 🔥
I want to take this opportunity once again to thank the many fans who wrote to us with suggestions to fix or improve the overall experience of Candy and fan assets prior to this mint. We prioritized the fan assets so we could commence with the Solana mint and will turn to the Candy.io website fixes in due course. That said, our tremendous fan feedback made our efforts hugely better although it put us a little bit behind our original schedule. 💪
Thank you - we are doing something unique here and to have had so many supporters contribute their time and effort to make us better has been hugely gratifying to all of us on the @CandyDigital team. 🙏
Apologies of course for any inconvenience caused by our delay.

Fox had a bad fourth, but that was a group project.
I stand by my earlier take that the difference in the series is whether the Spurs can manage their dumb mistakes or not.
Failed again last night.

Steve is correct but also the data is being pinned via multiple providers atm and we are working on an announcement with one of the biggest decentralized providers for a fully open approach that is pre funded with enough to make everyone comfortable
This is a big step forward
There are many crazy things in the digital hobby. But among the craziest is there is a league licensed collectible with this low of a population and a solid technical foundation that still has a good price set up and you think you should avoid it.
Let's go chase a top instead
20k people will shell out $4k to go to one NBA game but there aren't 1000 people to buy a LeBron James NBATopShot Debut for $800? The numbers don't make sense.
Every collectible, physical or digital, comes with an adoption and an existential risk.
If you are collecting for reasons beyond fun you should acknowledge the risks, determine how they are mitigated, and then derive your price targets based on how well they are mitigated.
The other piece imo is no institutional money will ever come into digital collectibles in a meaningful way until these risks are reasonably mitigated.
That’s what makes the technical updates announced by Candy and Top Shot so significant for my thesis.
I see a lot of shrugs out there towards the announcement yesterday for Top Shot and I get it—some of the details are very much in the weeds.
But don’t make the mistake that means it doesn’t matter.
It’s a major adjustment to technical risk and my personal outlook.
