Let’s start with work—what’s your day job, and what does a ‘typical’ day look like (if such a thing exists)?
My day job is freelance writer and script editor. I also make a vaguely car-related podcast called Smith and Sniff.
I work at home a lot so a typical day starts with avoiding work by walking the dog. Then back home to waste some time replying to emails. Then I might dodge work by going for a run.
After lunch I’ll put off work by casually fall down a three hour worm hole reading about ‘80s TV shows on the internet and messing around in Logic Pro making Italo Disco no one will ever hear, then it’s 5pm and time to slip into an existential funk about my inability to get on with the job I’m paid for until finally I manage a bit of writing.
And that’s a good Monday for me.
