Prof. Marc Stutter giving a keynote for the afternoon session "Land to Water contaminant loss", presenting work on #phoshorus#riparian#mitigation strategies.
200 scientists, advisers, agri industry, farmers & govt officials gathered for latest on water catchment science #CS2023 I'll be chairing a panel discussion with MEP @ColmMarkey Thomas Ryan @tirlan_ , @ProfPHaygarth Lancaster University and Dr David Wall @Teagasc.

Past informs the future…colourful mottles depict the history of water, chemical conditions and landscape context in this #riparian UK soil. Together with our biogeochemical analyses and experiments, this helps us predict altered cycles of nutrients with #climatechange
The #CarriProject team finished installation and soil sampling at 2 out of 3 #riparian observation sites in #LakeDistrict. Looking forward to a second visit soon to finish the last installations. Thanks to @ProfPHaygarth@ProfJessDavies for the support and great field assistance.
This new paper shows a need for improving C stock and reactivity estimates in riparian wetlands, across catchments and countries and representing them in scaling frameworks. @CarriProject is tackling this.
