Simply an incredible moment for the league and an unforgettable series. Spurs entire team needs a mental coach or perhaps an offseason with the monks. They'll be back, but holy shit, talk about a rough moment to have a learning experience.

The average margin of victory in that series was 4.0 PPG. It's probably the closest wire to wire Finals in NBA history, in terms of every single game coming down to a super dramatic clutch finish. One team just happened to be 100x better than the other in those clutch spots!

De'Aaron Fox in the WCF Finals: 12.0 PPG on 42.7% TS (42.1% 2P, 24.0% 3P) In the 4th quarter in the Finals, he shot 4/15 from the field with 5 TOVs to 4 AST He's set to make over $220M over the next four years

The Spurs led every single game of that series by double digits after the first quarter. They led three games going into the 4th quarter and were tied in one other. They led every game at some point in the final four minutes. No precedent for a team losing 4-1 in that fashion.

I have never, in my life, seen a series-long choke like what the Spurs just did. They broke down in almost every big moment. Pretty much the entire team was visibly petrified in the clutch. Chalk it up to youth or inexperience but that was an insane thing to witness.

What an unforgettable performance by Brunson. Rock fight of a game and he's the one dude on the floor producing good offense all night. Scored damn-near half his team's points in a championship closeout game. That was a superhuman effort. Ended any Finals MVP debate.

I've said it many times now, but I've never been more wrong about a team in my life than I was with these Knicks. Coming into the playoffs, I thought they could not win the title. They went 16-3. I am a fool. What an incredible run. They were the team of destiny.

Whew, thank goodness Mitch just took Harper out of the game. He's played 20 whole minutes tonight. Probably exhausted. He's only 8-12 while Fox & Castle are 2-16. Not like he was taking over the game.

One way or another, either for the play on Brunson in Game 2 or that closeout, Wemby should've picked up his 4th flagrant point at some point in this series and should've faced a one-game suspension. He's super lucky.

Rough offensive half all-around. Wemby was outstanding defensively and the Spurs collectively did a phenomenal job on KAT. Holding the Knicks to 25% 2P in a half is insane. But Fox and Castle were a brutal 2/15 combined. No lead feels safe when their offense looks like this.

There's a legit argument that Dylan Harper is the best player under 25 to build around not named Wemby. Once again, getting to the rim at will and finishing everything tonight while wreaking havoc defensively. No rookie should be able to do this!

I don't know exactly where I land on Harper within the U25 group but he is firmly in the Top 5 with Wemby, Cade, Flagg and Ant

The Spurs are the first team ever to win the first quarter by 10 points in five straight games in a playoff series. But, as we all know, the game really starts now!

Dylan Harper has made 72 restricted-area FGs in these playoffs at a 67.2% clip. That's the most restricted-area FGM by any PG in a single postseason since Russell Westbrook in 2014, who did so on 53.3% FG. We're talking about a rookie here. Unfathomable driving talent.

Are the Spurs the worst clutch team in NBA Finals history?

The Spurs have gone 3-7 in clutch games in these playoffs. They are just the second team to do so (or worse) in the play-by-play era ('21 Clippers). We may be looking at the worst clutch run ever.
