Do *not* call it a "bicycle accident". Do not call it a "bike crash". Johnny Gaudreau and his brother were struck and killed by the *driver* of an SUV. Words matter.

STOP asking why they wanted to ride bikes, or why they wanted to ride bikes on that road. START asking why we put up with drunk drivers, aggressive drivers, and drivers who refuse to share the road.

It kind of blows my mind that we ever decided that smartphones were appropriate for kids and teens in schools.

New paper from Norway: Banning smartphones in school - significantly decreased doctors visits for psychological symptoms and diseases among girls - reduced bullying among both genders - improved girls’ GPA and attendance rates - largest effect sizes were among the poorest kids

The first Tuesday of April is National Caregivers Day in Canada. On this day, we honour and celebrate people in Canada who provide personal care, physical and/or emotional support to those in need. Caregivers make a difference in the lives of many people across the country.

my most old-fashioned opinion is that we should bring back markers of mourning - nowadays it feels like people can lose the most important person in the world to them & work will be like ‘you’ve had 2 days off we need you back & pretending everything’s fine’ let a bitch GRIEVE
Just learned about mourning stationery and it’s so lovely to be like “every single part of my life is full of grief even the paper I’m writing on”
