Thanks be to God for a new priest for our diocese! Bp. Flores ordained Rev. Mr. Arturo Escobedo Jr to the Sacred Order of the Presbyterate. He will serve as parroquial vicar at Our Lady of Sorrows in McAllen.

The late American Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen will be beatified on September 24, 2026, in St. Louis, Missouri, according to the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints.

Pope Leo XIV has appointed Archbishop Gabriele Giordano Caccia, Titular Archbishop of Sepino, as the new Apostolic Nuncio to the United States. Archbishop Caccia, 68, has served as Permanent Observer of the Holy See to the United Nations since 2019, and succeeds Cardinal Christophe Pierre, 80, who has held the post since 2016.

Let's celebrate Aux Bp Mario A Avilรฉs as he concludes his ministry in our diocese. Mass of Thanksgiving is set for Jan 21 at 6:30pm at the Basilica of Our Lady of San Juan del Valle. His farewell to the diocese precedes his installation as Bishop of the Diocese of Corpus Christi.
