The moths have hit. Two beautiful Anderson & Co Shetland sweaters, a Peregrine polo and a Peregrine pullover that I have had for years destroyed. Noticeably they left the cheap M&S unchewed. Can't afford to replace them. Every flying bug is now my enemy.
Always been slightly annoyed by @SimonCalder who seems to be the only travel writer ever asked to comment on TV.
However just watched a cast with him on Sail Away and I have totally reversed my opinion. Kudos to you sir.
Weird thing happened tonight. I was thinking of books I want reread and @StephenKing 's The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon headed the list. Have a copy somewhere, now to find it (Enderby came 2nd btw).
Just seen the cast for The Thursday Murder Club and it looks brilliant.
I hope they have a good script writer, or even the actors can ad-lib it, because the book was truly awfully badly written (didn't finish it).
Banned from @Etsy . No idea why as I have only bought two things through their site. Wanted to buy a couple more seriously good products but can't (will ring them direct). Same with X - banned by @TheSimonEvans but why? I did question his taste in shoes.
Am I on a banning list?
Surprised that England are sponsored by @wholeearthfoods . I thought that they were a pretty niche brand. As it happens I am addicted to their Orange and Lemon cans and buy them by the crate.
One of my favourite tales: In an Italian near Regent St and I broke up with my the GF (wasn't too bad as I was her brother's best man a couple of years later). Friend thought I was an idiot so dumped my carbonara on my head. Stormed out and went to the Chequers off Jermyn St where I had done a few daytime stints.
Landlord takes one look at me and says "take over Peregrine" and chases a customer down the street with a chair leg. Regulars just nod and carry on.
Fun times.
Not quite believing this but I have deliberately chosen to listen to an All Saints album.
Now feel 20 years younger and way more positive. Thank you lasses.
Rye International Jazz & Blues Festival is back in late August. Saw Monty Alexander last year and the line up looks amazing this year. Courtney Pine and JTQ are both brilliant live.
If you can support it please do. @jazzfm
Not sleeping, worried about my mum and myself. Dreams are becoming odder and odder.
So thank the Lord for people like Murray Perahia who can remind us that beauty still exists.
Not going through the best period of my life and reading Wordsworth and Browning (my favourite poet but very dark) and listening to Finzi it's helping. Time for ridiculous American overly positive spy fiction.
