Current sitch: I went ahead and paid $30 to check my tiny carryon because I knew this @Delta flight’s overheads would be full by Group 6 boarding. Now we’ll depart a half hour late because 22 other people won’t gate check their bags for free to avoid 10 minutes at baggage claim.
