Ukrainian Defenders Denys "Bars" and Dmytro "K2" have returned from the positions near the city of Kostiantynivka in Donetsk region, where they held the line for 130 days.
According to the Warriors, the most difficult moment was their first direct firefight with Russians:
"That was the scariest part. After that, it becomes routine. It’s better when you’re the one shooting, not the one being shot at."
Overall, they eliminated seven Russian occupiers. From the bodies of killed Russian soldiers, they seized radios and for another two months monitored enemy movements, relaying the information to the battalion’s command post.
The Warriors also showed off a captured AK-12 rifle. Denys’s personal weapon was buried under rubble during an attack by a Russian FPV drone, forcing him to use enemy weapons in combat.
The Defenders were evacuated from the position by an all-terrain vehicle with a trailer. Along with them, a 23-year-old Russian prisoner of war, Danil Sychov from Volgograd, was also evacuated. During the fighting, he surrendered to Ukrainian Warriors from a neighboring position, but could not be evacuated at the time. As a result, he remained with the Ukrainian infantrymen at the position for more than two months. They shared their supplies with him.
