Vice President Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan filled out the self-enumeration form online for Census 2027, at Uprashtrapati Bhavan today. Census 2027, undertaken in alignment with the Government’s Digital India initiative, leverages extensive digital technologies to enhance the quality, efficiency, and timeliness of data collection and dissemination. The Vice President encouraged all residents to participate in the self-enumeration process and submit their household details online during the period notified by their respective State/UT through the official web portal: se.census.gov.in The Registrar General and Census Commissioner of India, Shri Mritunjay Kumar Narayan, was present during the enumeration procedure. @PMOIndia @HMOIndia @CensusIndia2027

As part of the first phase of the Census, the ‘House Listing’ process commencing today, I filled the self-enumeration form. This process will play a crucial role in accelerating India’s development journey and ensuring that government schemes reach every citizen effectively. Completed my self enumeration. Today marks the beginning of the first phase of Census 2027, relating to house listing and housing operations. This census is the first time data collection is being done through digital means. It also empowers the people of India to self-enumerate their household details. I appeal to the people of India to self-enumerate their household details themselves and participate in the Census process.

President Droupadi Murmu participated in the self-enumeration initiative of the Government of India for Census 2027 at Rashtrapati Bhavan. This Census is being conducted in digital mode for the first time. The President self-enumerated her household details in the portal (se.census.gov.in) in the presence of Home Secretary Shri Govind Mohan, Registrar General and Census Commissioner of India Shri Mritunjay Kumar Narayan and other senior officials.

A Conference of Chief Secretaries of States/UTs, State Census Nodal Officers, Senior officers from MHA, and Directors of Census Operations, on #Census2027 was held today in New Delhi. The Union Home Secretary, Shri Govind Mohan chaired the conference in the presence of the Registrar General & Census Commissioner of India (RG&CCI), Shri Mritunjay Kumar Narayan; Additional Registrar Generals, Shri Sunil Kumar and Shri Sanjeev Kumar; Deputy Director General, Shri Biswajit Das and senior officers of ORGI. Welcoming the participants, the RG&CCI described #Census2027 as a historic National exercise and outlined its overall preparedness. He briefed on the usage of the digital tools in the ensuing Census including introduction of Self-Enumeration. Addressing the conference, the Union Home Secretary highlighted the long and rich tradition of Census in India while emphasizing the pivotal role of State/UT Governments in the successful conduct of #Census2027. He urged States/UTs to ensure timely appointment and training of Census functionaries, republishing of Notifications, avoiding any jurisdictional changes up to 31-03-2027, effective use of digital tools including Self-Enumeration and a focused publicity & communication approach to build public awareness, trust and participation to achieve the full objectives of the Census 2027. Notification of questionnaire of Phase I of Census of India 2027 - Houselisting & Housing Census has been issued.
