It’s funny, I made a serious recommitment to taming my tongue after watching the performative displays of “discipleship” by people like Gal Sharpton. You put on all the clothes of Christ (Romans 13:14) or none. Heaven knows I’ve never hidden nor denied my flaws, but I don’t revel in them, either (see my third book). Don’t deny God’s ability to use imperfection for His glory, and don’t make excuses for willful, continued, chosen sin. Lastly, sometimes there are people so rebellious, so evil, you just have to shake the dust off of your feet and continue without them (Matthew 10:14).

I have been critical of Reform for years. But the reform hate is becoming wayyy to forced and is lacking logic. @SuellaBraverman and @RobertJenrick are not the people approving 100,000s of migration applications. It’s the civil service that does this. The same civil service Suella and Robert fought endlessly against during their time in the Tory Party. Anyone who thinks 2 people are responsible for Mass illegal migration is an amateur who should be involving themselves in politics let alone speaking or tweeting about politics.

The scenes in Belfast last night were shocking and completely unacceptable. There is no justification for the violence and disorder that we saw threatening our communities, nor for those who encouraged it, online or elsewhere. It is clear that people were targeted last night because of their background and I will not tolerate it. Those responsible will feel the full force of the law. I’ve spoken to the Chief Constable of the Police Service of Northern Ireland to convey my thanks to them and the frontline emergency services for their bravery in keeping people safe. I’ve also spoken to the First Minister and Deputy First Minister to discuss the ongoing situation. Appealing for calm must be the priority, and that is what I urge now. We must let the police get on with their work.
