I ponder on these things.
Life gets more complicated as we grow older.
You begin to understand that happiness is fragile, time is unforgiving, and nothing truly lasts forever. The older you become, the more you realize that every beautiful moment carries the shadow of an ending.
That is why Achilles’ words in Troy hit so deeply:
“The gods envy us because we’re mortal.”
Not because human life is easy, but because it is temporary.
Every laugh, every embrace, every victory, every sunset means something precisely because it will not last forever. If life were endless, moments would lose their value.
Maybe that is the strange beauty of growing older. You lose innocence, but you gain perspective.
You carry scars, disappointments, and responsibilities, yet you also begin to appreciate things you once ignored; peace, loyalty, quiet moments, and the people who stay.
The gods may be immortal, but they can never feel the urgency of being human.
