The Employment Rights Bill, which is being debated by the House of Commons this week, will bring the biggest uplift to workers' rights in a generation. ASLEF is proud to have been part of developing the New Deal for Working People from its inception.

Brilliant job by @LouHaigh driving the Public Ownership Bill onto the Statute Book. Taking our railways back into public hands, so they are run in the interests of passengers and communities. A Labour Government in action. 🎉🎈🥳🪩 🚂🚄🚃🚅🚉
Today the Public Ownership Bill received Royal Assent, beginning the biggest overhaul of our railways in a generation. The Public Ownership Act will ensure our railways are finally run in the interest of passengers and taxpayers, allowing us to create a rail system the British public can trust.

Today the Public Ownership Bill received Royal Assent 👑. This is a major step towards Britain's railways operating in the interest of the public. We now look ahead to the creation of Great British Railways to truly bring the wheels and steel back together.

Great to join @ASLEFunion & hear about their member survey I am incredibly concerned about the wellbeing implications of train drivers not having access to safe, clean, dignified toilet facilities as well as the time to use them during their working day #DignityForDrivers

Delighted to host @ASLEFunion in Parliament today for the launch of their ‘Dignity for Drivers’ report. Ensuring everyone has access to proper toilet facilities is key to safety and dignity at work. You can read more on the report here 👉 aslef.org.uk/news/dignity-dr…

We know that the railway workforce is key to the efficient operation of services, so we're glad that @LouHaigh sat down with us to resolve our dispute as soon as she took office, and continues to move fast and fix things. Thanks to @rach_hopkins for raising this important issue.

We agree with @tonyvaughanMP in his question to Parliament this morning - investing in infrastructure and moving more freight on rail are really important for growing businesses and growing local economies. Let's make use of all the available capacity. #InvestInRail

We are strengthening rights and protections for working people to make work pay. Good employers know that treating people with dignity and respect helps improve productivity and their business’s reputation. That’s the mandate we were given and we’re getting on with the job.
Today, MPs have a chance to support the Employment Rights Bill – a vital first step in delivering the #NewDeal for Working People. Every constituency in the country supports strengthening workers’ rights. Check out the stats for your area: labourunions.org.uk/newdeald…

When it comes to supporting working people, you know whose side the Tories are on. Statutory Mat Pay is £184 a week. Equivalent to £4.60 an hour for a 40 hr week #notexcessive Delighted Labour's New Deal means this Government will be urgently reviewing *all* parental leave.

🚨NEW 🚨 We have received a pay offer from the Department for Transport in respect of our national dispute. It is a three-year pay deal (at 5%, 4.75% and 4.5%) with no strings. This will now be put to a member referendum.
