إن قرار Webometrics بالتحرك ضد الادعاءات الزائفة في التصنيفات هو قرار في محله. ويسعدني أن أرى أن هذه المسألة قد وجدت طريقها إلى المعالجة، خاصة أنني كنت قد لفتُّ نظر صديقي وزميلي إيسيدرو أغيّو سابقًا إلى وجود هذه التصنيفات المزيّفة. لكن الدرس الحقيقي يتجاوز Webometrics نفسها. لقد أصبحت التصنيفات عملةً للسمعة الأكاديمية. وحين تُكافأ الجامعات على الظهور والانتشار، قد يُغرى البعض بالتواصل أولًا والتحقق لاحقًا. لذلك، يجب أن تكون للادعاءات الزائفة في التصنيفات تبعات واضحة. لكن هذه التبعات ينبغي أن تكون شفافة، قائمة على الأدلة، ومتناسبة مع حجم المخالفة. كما يجب أن نميّز بين الاحتيال المتعمد والإهمال، مع الاستمرار في تحميل المؤسسات مسؤولية ما تنشره رسميًا. وفي المقابل، تقع على مزوّدي التصنيفات مسؤوليات أيضًا: يجب أن تكون البيانات الرسمية سهلة التحقق، وأن تكون الأرشيفات واضحة، وأن يصبح كشف المواقع المقلّدة أو الزائفة أكثر سهولة. فمستقبل التصنيفات لا يتعلق بالمنهجية وحدها، بل بالنزاهة، والحوكمة، والثقة. @WebUniversities @isidroaguillo
