Today's news doesn’t just mean the U.S. will no longer be the only one setting up a reserve. It means countries worldwide will follow suit. We’re about to witness the largest global arms race in history. Nations will scramble to accumulate as much as possible, not wanting the U.S. to dominate this space and wield control over them the same way it weaponized the dollar.
And when a country lacks the fiat reserves to compete? I can see them resorting to money printing, inflating their currencies into oblivion, and further impoverishing their citizens. Just look at Argentina—its inflation rate is already at 117.8%. When a country reaches that point, it’s practically past the point of no return. At that stage, might as well use whatever is left of your devalued currency to acquire hard assets, right?
For those not holding hard assets, I think the road ahead is going to be brutal. No country is immune. No individual is immune.
