"Open primary system debated as Californians go to polls" thecentersquare.com/californ… The only pushback is coming from the corrupt parties. California's open primary is supported by 70% of voters. It's what right looks like. And what most Americans want nationwide. “the good news is that California is one of three states that have abolished traditional party primaries...That is just not the case in other states around the country, especially in 16 states where close to 17 million independent voters are entirely disenfranchised...So when you compare it to perfect, California's system is not perfect - no system is - but when you compare it to the status quo in 47 other states, California has one of the most representative, most participatory, most functional election processes in the entire country.” -@NickTroiano “Many of us don’t get a vote on the people who will ultimately go to Congress to determine whether we go to war,” -@PaulRieckhoff “The purpose of the primary is a voter-nominated primary...It’s not a party-nominated primary like you have in 47 other states.” -@ChadPeace “If the Democrats can’t inspire enough voters to get from round one to round two, that’s on them...Same with the Republicans.” - @jbopdycke Open primaries are what real democracy looks like. If you stand against them, you stand against an equal vote for all Americans. And on the wrong side of history. Closed primaries are the crooked and rigged past. Open primaries and equally-empowered independents are the future.

California independents: You do NOT need to register with a political party to vote in the June 2 primary. Every voter gets the same ballot. Every voter can choose any candidate. No party permission required. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. IVN Editor @ThatShawnG breaks it down. #TopTwoPrimary #OpenPrimaries #CApolitics #Vote2026 ivn.us/no-you-dont-need-to-r…

California’s Top Two primary is under attack — but the candidate responses don’t break down the way party leaders might expect. Some Democrats, Republicans, and Greens are defending every voter’s right to participate. Others won’t say where they stand. #CApolitics #Vote2026 #TopTwoPrimary #Independentvoters ivn.us/undo-the-top-two-cali…

This was never radical. It is necessary. I’ve been calling out institutional investors hoarding single-family homes for years and made it core to this campaign months ago when I launched. I proposed doing this 10 years ago, but corporate Democrats stopped it from going anywhere. Homes are for families, not portfolios.
JUST IN: 🇺🇸 President Trump to ban large institutional investors from buying single-family homes. "The American Dream is increasingly out of reach for far too many people."

Very thoughtful analysis about how efforts to open primaries to unaffiliated voters and expansion of ranked choice voting could come together in New York City.

The CRC process in 2025 did a disservice to independent voters and reformers because the commissioners decided on a single avenue to pursue that was broadly opposed and pitted #RankedChoiceVoting advocates against #openprimaries advocates. Read my latest on @IVN.
