Yesterday the celebrations continued in Year 3! We led mass and then had a party to celebrate our children who received the sacrament of First Holy Communion.

#prayerandliturgy Reception thought about the miracle of Pentecost. We listened to the story and reflected on the word by saying our own thank you prayers. We wore our Pentecost crowns and talked about what they represented. We went forth singing “My hands are yours.”

Today we came together to celebrate the feast of the Ascension of Our Lord. Through prayer, scripture and worship, we reflected on Christ’s Ascension into Heaven and His promise to remain with us always. A beautiful celebration of faith shared by our whole school family. ✝️🙏

#prayerandliturgy Reception thought about Mary during our prayer service as it is the month of May. We listened to the story of the annunciation and thought of our own thank you prayers about Mary and our own mothers. We finished with saying and singing the Hail Mary together.

As SATs week is almost at an end, our Year 6 children asked for time this afternoon to pray quietly together. It was a beautiful reminder of the faith at the heart of our school community, as our children turned to God for strength and courage.

#prayerandliturgy Reception learnt about the feast of the English Martyrs. We learnt about St Edmund Campion and St Margaret Clitherow. We thought about the sacrifices they have made for us. We asked God to help us have courage like them and to follow what God calls us to do.
