Photos from this morning’s Home Improvement Preservation Program (HIPP) Transition to @VOATexas. Website and phone applications should open up in 2-3 weeks. There is a small pipeline of 60 existing homeowners with needs ready to be met. The program is expected to serve around 450 homeowners with home repairs ranging up to $25,000. Thank you to The Addy Foundation for stepping up with $600,000 in bridge funding to get the program started! The program is currently being funded by federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) dollars and local over-performing and expiring Tax Increment Financing (TIF) dollars in Dallas City Council districts 4, 6, and 7 represented by Maxie Johnson, Laura Cadena, and @AdamBazaldua for Dallas respectively. Future funding sources could include bonds, low-income housing tax credits, and other public and philanthropic sources. Thank you to CMs Cadena and Bazaldua for speaking today and @ChadWestDallas for showing up in support, as well. We will continue to monitor the City of Dallas website for when applications go live: dallascityhall.com/departmen…

Don’t mess with trash pickup. That is what 93% of Dallas residents said in a #CityofDallas survey. Councilmembers @ChadWestDallas , Phil Roth, @GayDWillis13 , @BLACKMONPaula , and @caraathome said the city needs to listen to its residents. #alleypickup @FOX4

2025 was a busy year. I was thrilled to see @dallasnews cite some of my biggest checklist items — ‘Consolidating elections’ & ‘Modernizing parking rules’ — as two of the five most impactful things that happened in our local governemt this past year. edition.pagesuite.com/popove…

Echoing these sentiments. Dallas has enjoyed a fantastic partner in @MarcVeasey. So many projects in City of Dallas, and here in Oak Cliff like the upcoming Martin Weiss Recreation Center enhancements, are thanks to the hard work of @RepVeasey and his staff.
Replying to @RafaelAnchia
His work shows up all over North Texas. Virtually every infrastructure project of consequence included his investment & involvement. He and Congresswoman EBJ formed a formidable team when it came to Congressionally directed funding. (2) #Veasey

As a resident of the new #TX33, I will be proud to cast my vote for @juliejohnsonTX next March. Julie is talented at collaborating when she can and fighting when she must - she has been a champion for Dallas in Congress, and we need her back.

250 kids from low-income Dallas families learn to code every week Grades 3–12. Title I schools. Under-resourced communities. One of them just got a full-ride scholarship to Brown Ivy League. Full ride. A kid from a low-income area and a DISD school beat the odds The organization is called Bold Idea One of Savoy's investors introduced me to them a few years back. I've been a donor ever since. For 10 years, they've taught computer science to Dallas ISD Title I students. They close the digital skills gap one student at a time. The results speak for themselves. Jason Kidd backs this organization. When people at that level support a local nonprofit, pay attention. I want Dallas to win. That means a smarter workforce. More founders. More problem-solvers. Educating our next generation is the easiest investment I make all year. Bold Idea has the track record to prove it works. See the image below for where your dollars go. $10 buys headphones. $50 gets a kid a refurbished laptop. $1,400 funds an entire Coding Club. Link in the replies. If this resonates, a quote tweet to your network is just as powerful as a donation. Help me spread the word.

Thanks to @bradalberts20 for inviting me to check out the @DallasStars executive offices in downtown Dallas. Our team is called the “Dallas” Stars for a reason, as they belong in our city now and in decades to come. #TexasHockey

✅ BIG WIN FOR DALLAS! Grateful to all Dallas City Council Members for unanimously approving the move of municipal elections to November of odd-numbered years—honoring the strong mandate from Dallas voters and the work of the Legislature. Proud to have partnered with @NathanJohnsonTX, @RoyceWestTX, @RepToniRoseTX, @ChadWestDallas, & business and civic leaders across Dallas to make this happen. This reform means higher turnout, lower costs, and stronger representation for every Dallas resident.
