What's the state of our digital nation? The latest research shows it's a digital paradox.
There's a clear case for action. Gov, business, community orgs & each one of us need to work together to #FixTheDigitalDivide.
See all Digital Nation 2024 research: goodthingsfoundation.org/ins…
ALT What is the state of our digital nation? 92% agree most essential services now require internet access. But 8.5 million people lack basic digital skills to use the internet. And it costs more to buy goods or use offline services. Food costs are now 50% higher when purchased offline.
ALT We can become a digital nation by making sure everyone is digitally included with a device, digital capability, connectivity, confidence & trust, and a local place to get digital support.
ALT People who received digital inclusion support said they're:
1. Happier. 76% say it's helped them connect with friends and family.
2. Healthier. 68% can now use online tools to manage their health.
3. Better off. People with digital skills save £900 more a year, and there could be a £13.7 billion benefit to the economy if everyone had digital skills and access.
4. More employable. 68% saw a work or skills related benefit.
ALT The ways you can help build a digital nation.
1. Read our 2024 digital nation research.
2. Help someone find local connectivity & digital skills support.
3. Join 5000 other organisations and become a digital inclusion hub.
4. Donate business devices to the National Device Bank
