About that illustration ... I've got no problem with the baby or the cane, but why are half the figures children? The average life expectancy of a woman in the US is 80. Where are those decades of being women in the world? @AgingMeg this needs a fix.

Our member Mr. Filip Hamro (Finland) closed the last session of the multi-stakeholder meeting, urging Member States to adopt a UN Convention on the Rights of Older Persons, highlighting the need to include grassroot organisations to ensure that older persons are not left behind.

My book DINNER WITH THE FOUNDING FATHERS notes that NZ tried to join Federation of States in 1901 but withdrew when our 6 States refused to give Indigenous people status #Maoris had rightly gained in Treaty of 1840. Opponents of #UluruStatement are still in denial 120 years later

What gets measured gets improved and we don't measure the impact of ageism. There are no explicit guarantees against ageism and age discrimination and no clear obligations on States to eliminate it says @krabheru of @GAROP_Sec
