Don’t know the hybrid on this one, the issue depends from some plants to the whole field. Environment caused but genetics seem to be playing the largest factor. Haven’t seen any in Bayer genetics yet

P1742 has some issues. How bad? I think it will take top off maybe more if the ears that pollinated unevenly abort random kernels. This is not the only hybrid doing this. Hybrids with little to no lateral branching on tassels are the worst. Easy to spot, silks long and pink
