Wild American Basket Flowers.
They are large (3 - inches across), soft and fragrant.
These beauties often get mowed down before they have a chance to bloom.
Sometimes when we let the weeds grow we discover they aren’t weeds at all.

Waiting to be seated at a local dive bar that is known for its 5 star menu, we met an older man who came home from working the gas fields in Abilene to spend an evening with his son shooting pool.
He was so proud of his son.
Pretty sure he let him win.
