My lovely Mam died suddenly last week. She was an absolutely amazing Grandma to my Betsy. They were the best of friends πŸ’› A former teacher, Mam understood Betsy's Down's Syndrome and enriched her life immeasurably. Heartbroken. What a loss. #DownsSyndrome #Bereavement #Mam

So this is known among older corners of the autistic community as "exposure anxiety," a term coined by Donna Williams, iirc, and I believe it is one of the most under-researched reported experiences of autism for how much stress and inertia it causes.
The autistic realization that you can’t do anything with people around because being watched even casually feels physically unbearable.

🧠 People choose friends with a similar level of autism β€” study Scientists found that we connect and build friendships more easily with people who are on a similar spectrum. During conversations, their brains synchronize more strongly. This phenomenon is called double empathy.

The changes to the Motability mileage cap mean that those of us who transport our children ourselves, to specialist provisions out of area, will now likely exceed the limit. 10,000 miles per year is not compatible with disabled lives. Motability is no longer fit for purpose.

Β£200 a month. That’s what families could lose under new Universal Credit changes. 3M disabled people rely on the health top up. But under Labour, families are being pushed to choose between vital care and simply making ends meet. When will the government stop punishing the most vulnerable?

Urgent: Nigel Farage says he barely knows Trump. He’s heard of him but he’s never campaigned for him, or modelled himself on him. He DOESN’T want photos like those attached to be circulated at a delicate time with local elections looming. Please DO NOT circulate these.

While this week sees the some good news in terms of the end of the two-child limit it also sees some awful news for those who are too ill to work with a cut to the Limited Capability for Work and Work-Related Activity (LCWRA) of almost half from over Β£420 to Β£217.26 ⬇️
If you're too ill/disabled to work: today a 2-tier system begins for DWP support Existing LCWRA: Β£429.80 pcm Most new LCWRA: Β£217.26 pcm (49.5% less) Labour believes this cut "incentivises" people to work Reality: previous cuts increased poverty with no employment increase πŸ‘‡

Just like other despicably bad employers, Wes Streeting and Keir Starmer are weaponising terms and conditions in a pay dispute with Doctors. The difference here however is that cutting 1,000 training posts for resident Doctors will ultimately hurt the general public most.
1,000 NHS training posts that were to be created for resident doctors have been cancelled by the Government, after the British Medical Association failed to meet a 48-hour deadline to call off industrial action next week. The Prime Minister issued the ultimatum to try and stop the walkouts. @SwainITV has the latest.

So in the same week the government announces that 1 in 4 GP referrals to a specialist will be blocked "to cut waiting lists"...Starmer deprives doctors of 1000 specialist training places.
Tonight, @Keir_Starmer and @wesstreeting have decided to cut the number of offered specialist training jobs for doctors. Doctors need these jobs to train to become the specialist Consultants and GPs of the future that the NHS so desperately needs. Instead, this Government has decided to make it harder for you to see a specialist and is effectively holding doctors’ jobs hostage. We are already an under-doctored country compared to other OECD countries. In 2025, around 40,000 doctors applied for just 10,000 speciality training jobs. That means tens of thousands of qualified doctors ready to train, ready to work, and ready to treat patients are being turned away every year. The Government can train more specialist doctors when they want to. They are simply choosing not to. Remember this the next time you can’t get an appointment or your surgery is delayed.

BREAKING - OUTRAGE in AMERICA: White House takes down video after Trump says, 'Don't send any money for daycare. We can't take care of daycare. We're a big country, we have 50 states, we're fighting wars. We have to take care of one thing, military protection. It's not possible for us to take care of daycare, Medicaid, Medicare, all these individual things." WATCH

And just like that, it’s completely VANISHED from the media. A sitting congressman, Ted Lieu, said on the record the Epstein files are being blocked because they show Trump raped and threatened to kill children. Let’s keep this in the spotlight every day.
