Caddied for some Ohio State diehards today. Really liked them.
Life is complicated! 😂🤷
Got me thinking about some other things that pleasantly surprised me this season. Here are a few...
- While I certainly witnessed a fair share of frustration from players, I don't recall anyone venturing into raging lunatic territory like years past.
- The turn window had pickle spears to put on our brats and dogs. I don't remember them in years past, or at least didn't take them. They are a tremendously satiating snack for a caddie that has sweat a lot. A real game changer!
- I had a really good season with medical doctors, which has often been the most difficult/disappointing profession to caddie for in my opinion
- The pace of play, while not always perfect, has been much better. I attribute it to the wise decision from golf staff to switch to 13 minutes in between tee times instead of 10.
- I work Saturdays. It used to make me ill to miss college football. This year it just hasn't mattered to me.
- My nether region had much less angst and chaffing due to
@ChassisForMen. Great powder and cream. Thanks for helping me keep my chassis classy!
- I've had a lot more players that actually have been able to drive the ball over 280 yards like they say they can at bag drop, and quite a few over 300.
- A much higher percentage of players than usual, at least in my groups, chose to play tees appropriate for their abilities.
- My Achilles still hasn't snapped.
- I witnessed four birdies on hole 18 this year (a record), but none on hole 4.
- Every now and then a player recognizes me at the bag drop and comes and says hello. Always a thrill!
Only a couple weeks left in the journey. What other surprises await?
Thanks for coming on my long walks with me!!!
Pick yourself up something nice and help support a soon to be out of season caddie.
