Bullying is not something we tolerate at The Hub in any form. Everyone has a right to tell their story and to choose how to parent their child. This type of censorship teaches kids that angry, fear mongering mobs rule society and that’s just not how it should be.
On Friday, I shared a post about a middle school that cancelled my visit rather than have me talk about my new middle grade novel A HIGH FIVE FOR GLENN BURKE and #LGBTQ themes. Since then, more than 20,000 of you have viewed the post. Respect and thanks. philbildner.com/when-bully-p…

So proud that DECA scholars are featured in the short and powerful documentary that was also partially filmed at our school. What an experience! Jason Reynolds is a school favorite-- such wise insight and sage words.
This week, we're celebrating resources that share with students the power, joy and influence of Black literature. "Dear, Dreamer," featuring writer @JasonReynolds83, will inspire students to read, write, tell their stories and connect with others. vimeo.com/338777680

Hahaha! Kids, teachers want YOUR answers. They want you to think.... so do authors, that’s why they write stories— so you can see/ reflect on the world around you and then do something with that knowledge.
These kids really expect me to do their homework for them. No, I can’t tell you what the themes are in my book. If you read it, you’ll figure it out.
