Trivia? When I worked on the Quayside, late Eighties, a dredger went up in the morning and returned in the afternoon. The Swing Bridge would open and close to a loud hooter. We would wave, they would wave. Ellis, the 'swinger', lived beside my mother-in-law.
Even more trivia, I can remember when the swing bridge opened and closed to let commercial shipping in and out, yes I am old.
