I agree. The Bill Hybels "situation" was finally told by the Chicago Tribune and other papers after the survivors tried for years to work with the elders - to no avail.

Pastors abusing and congregations staying quiet/ supporting pastors and attacking victims is my great grief & disbelief. It’s also evil and twisted, but most would rather call it a “blip” in morality rather than the perpetration and vile behavior that it is.

We know we love our systems over God, when victims of abuse come forward to speak truth are seen as the enemy – and removing or silencing or crushing them is labelled good because we have protected what we SAY is God’s – blind to the fact that doing so looks nothing like Him.
