Robin from Chosen Hill Lodge popped in to see us recently, bringing with him a cheque, representing money raised from a number of raffles and with the request that the donation goes towards ‘helping the incredible work’ of Cheltenham Open Door. Thank you!

Today is Emotional Health Day! At Open Door, we work with our Guests to provide mindful activities and we offer an onsite psychotherapist who can help anyone who wants, or needs to talk.

Here we have the amazing Arthur from Wood’s Barbers in Pittville who comes to cut our Guests’ hair every fortnight. Our Guests enjoy having a good haircut, which they can get for free at our Centre in Alstone Lane. We are grateful for Arthur’s kindness and professionalism.

In celebration of Valentine’s Day last week, Chef Marc cooked a nice meal for two as the star prize for Thursday’s game of Bingo. The lucky winner received a wild mushroom & tarragon risotto, parmesan broccoli gratin and a crisp garden salad to take home for the special day.

The Hatherley are pleased to announce that alongside their corporate Charity, Cheltenham Open Door is their local charity of choice. Also they hold a great quiz every Thursday night, run by our Cheltenham Open Door’s monthly resident Karaoke couple Jayne & Wayne.

Look out for our van! Cheltenham Open Door’s van is invariably out and about on the streets of Cheltenham, Gloucester and the surrounding area, picking up collections, heading to the supermarket to buy food for our guests and dropping off the essentials we need to operate.

Did you know... In 2024, we served 15,225 meals. Serving an average of 76 guests a day. And we were open 201 days.

We are passionate about Recycling! As you can see from the attached photos, we are recycling as much packaging and food waste as we can and encourage everyone who uses our Centre to join in!

Over the Christmas period, Vicki and Cam from The Everyman came into our Centre to run an excellent and fun Singing Project with our Guests. Activities such as these make Open Door such a special place to spend time, and we are grateful to The Everyman.
