New #paper 📢 Developing active, durable, and earth-abundant electrocatalysts for oxygen evolution (OER) is a major challenge, especially in PGM-free alkaline anion-exchange membrane water electrolysers (AEMWEs). Our researchers from @uniofgalway, TU Berlin, and @EPFL developed microsheets with iron and cobalt oxide, where even a small amount of iron boosts activity, enabling high current densities and stable performance. 💪This work has been published in ACS Applied Energy Materials. Congrats!

We’re very proud of our latest #webinar session! A big thank you to our researcher Fabio Dionigi, from TU Berlin, for so clearly explaining the key role #hydrogen plays in the green transition, particularly in replacing fossil fuels with clean and efficient energy carriers. This session is part of our lecture series on green hydrogen technologies, co-organised with @JSI_SLO, in Slovenia. Missed it? You can watch it on our YouTube channel! 👇

Excited to share our new publication in @angew_chem This is the start of a fruitful collaboration with Prof Qiu where we looked at a new type of electrocatalyst for the oxygen reduction reaction.
Careful nanomaterial design is critical to avoid highly reactive radical intermediates that prevent long-term stability. Thanks to the coauthors including Wenming Tong for this fantastic work! University of Galway Chemistry, University of Galway
