The #Census2021 results, and the rise of the non-religious, matter because it points to a different, and more progressive future and way of governance, says @andrewcopson. We ought to do away with these anachronistic hangovers – e.g. bishops in the Lords, collective worship laws.

Great to hear our patron, @alomshaha, speaking on @AndrewMarr9 about his own experiences of leaving faith behind. As we know through our service @faith2faithless, Alom's experience is one that is so often shared among young people today.

Thank you to the @BishopStAlbans for just now calling for the immediate recognition of humanist marriages in the House of Lords by statutory order. We appreciate the support the Church of England has shown for legal humanist marriages in England and Wales. #LordsQs

Astonishing growth in the non-religious population, according to the #Census2021. The no. of non-religious people jumped by over 8m, from 25%-37%. 'This Census result should be a wake-up call which prompts fresh reconsiderations of the role of religion in society', @andrewcopson

Over recent years, we have enjoyed Jolabokaflod, an Icelandic tradition which involves the exchange of wrapped books with a small bar of chocolate. It means we often receive books that we might never think of reading, so feel free to bring along a wrapped book with a chocolate.
