I don’t think people realize the impact of TXA on high blood loss high risk operations…
The road has existed for 50 years and is cheap but it’s usage is a relatively new phenomenon that has dramatically increased for the last 10 to 15 years
It’s cheap. It’s effective and hasn’t been pillaged by the bad actors in healthcare.
If I was to list the things in my life that I love
My wife and my children are first
My country is next
TXA is third and depending on how annoyed I am with the US government, it sometimes moves to second.

Finally we found a good home for the @OPTIKNEE SR on structural and molecular biomarker outcomes after ACL tears in @JOSPT! We've made this infographic to sum up the main messages.
In the last 3yrs the #optiknee team completed 7 systematic reviews to inform recommendations to prevent #osteoarthritis after knee injury

It's always the same story... Felt a pop, and had some pain, the pain got much worse a few days later.
Now they're miserable.
Mild/mod OA--->Degen root---> subchondral fx/intense edema.

In my experience (30 years of doing knee surgery) most degenerate menisci and post-meniscectomy knees are not associated with SIFK. SIFK is spontaneous focal subchondral metabolic (neurovascular) issue of uncertain origin, often recurrent and migratory. Needs more work!
