like 4 years ago i was playing vs zain on dreamland, i called out his dash back out of laser with approaching laser like 3-4 times, until he's at the ledge with no more space to dashback. i think to myself, "finally, i outplayed the cheeser... ITS MY TURN!" i chase him all the way into the corner & this guy JUMPS off stage as another form of dashing back. admittedly hypnotized by the way he moved... i follow him off stage thinking i'm a genius about to put an end to his trickery & dj dair him FTW & this guy jumps backwards over my head & tipper dairs me. imagine this goat doing a backflip over the leopard's approach & pulling out a sword & dairing his ass... now that's game sense #TrueStory #ActuallyHappened #Notalie

2016-2020 I attend 2-4 weeklies per week without fail, while I hated driving multiple hours & competing tired after work, the competition hanging w/ homies at the local was almost always worth it. 2020-2022 Covid era, got to compete at Summit 9 & hit my first top 8 at Shine 2022, played so many slippi tourneys, literally made a living just streaming the grind slippi tourneys each day, stressful but fun times. 2023-2025 I attend my one local basically every monday while traveling to maybe 4-5 tourneys per year, only giving myself a few chances to compete yearly, tad bit disappointing, causing passion & *daily* interest to wane. 2026 & we're still at it, but online tourneys are in the process of becoming nearly extinct, combining with a tragically true statistic that literally only the lamest possible players of our current day & age are essentially the only people entering online tourneys anymore (besides Hbox's cashbox, thanks Juan). Online melee now feels more than ever like a floaties paradise & a spacie purgatory... the ecosystem suffers from an extreme lack of swag & creativity, while the meta becomes increasingly & excruciatingly sweaty... it's just unbelievable at times... I miss getting to compete in bracket with actual great melee players regularly, I'm hoping to regain some life in my bird's eyes & attend some MDVA locals while living here this year, also am hoping to attend 4-6 majors this year. perhaps there no point to this post... but maybe some of you will relate, woo! Just the lamentations of a young bird & his growing pains... Cheers to better & brighter days. I really hope y'all enjoy these videos & that they can help inspire somebody, I put my heart & soul into them & idk how many more realistically I'll make. For years now I've felt my relationship with melee & streaming evolving, & man it's been some amazing times. These days I truly *do it* for the love of the game, but I keep feeling this creeping suspicion for about 2-3 years now that my time with melee is concluding, I can't say when though. I think a lot of people currently feel this way, & that's okay. Despite this, the beak has been at its peak, my fox is becoming more lethal day by day, & I still love melee passionately & the community I've built with my stream, & just streaming in general is always a phenomenal time. so i posted my most recent combo video on reddit just for funsies & somebody left this comment. then i enter cody's randomly seeded tourney today & first round played Hbox in falco puff, first four games of the day no warm up cuz i woke up like this. barely losing 1-3, then went into losers beating bigPiney sicca mayb & okayp all game 5 (you've prob never heard of these players but they're v good) before losing a tight set vs moky 2-3, who then went on to beat hbox jmook and cody twice lol. then i think about IRL melee taking cody hbox mango zain to game 5 in the past, makes me think, how good do people think you need to be at melee until you are "good at playing melee"? Lol
