For the second time this week, our policing community is grieving the loss of an officer who made the ultimate sacrifice. This is a reminder of the risks officers face every day to protect our communities, without hesitation and always with courage. Our thoughts are with their loved ones, the members of @TorontoPolice, and all those across our service who knew Cst. Pinizzotto as they navigate this loss. Community safety is our priority. These cameras provide us with critical information to support investigations and strengthen our response to incidents. Together with our partners at @CityBrampton, we’re committed to using innovative technology to support the work of our officers and enhance public safety.

I was in Caledon yesterday to welcome @407ETR’s $5 million donation to @RunnymedeHC, supporting the construction of two new specialized treatment facilities in Toronto and Caledon. This investment will help expand access for first responders to integrated care, improve outcomes and support long-term recovery.

The Peel Police Foundation marked a major milestone and positively impacted the lives of so many with its first-ever funding allocation: @BGCPeel, @EveryMind_CA, Free For All Community Services, @OurPlacePeel, @RootsCSPeel, and @SevaFoodBank.  These community partners play a critical role in supporting at-risk youth, and victims and survivors of human trafficking. Together, we are creating a safer, stronger Peel through innovative public police partnerships.

These arrests reflect the coordinated efforts of Peel Regional Police and our law enforcement partners across jurisdictions to disrupt these networks and hold those responsible accountable. Extortion is not confined to one region but connected both nationally and internationally. Addressing it requires strong cross-border collaboration and intelligence-sharing among agencies. We recognize the fear and harm this has caused, particularly within the South Asian community, and remain committed to put a stop to these crimes and keep our communities safe.

Outstanding work by @PeelPolice 12 Div officers, the impact of organized retail theft is felt across our community. This project sends a message to those involved in criminal activity that Peel is not open for business. A great example of collaborative, intelligence led policing.

Reflecting on a meaningful fireside chat with the @RotaractSauga. Youth shared a clear message: community safety is about trust, inclusion and belonging. Grateful for the open dialogue and the opportunity to keep building stronger collaborative approaches to community safety together.

Crimes that target children know no boundaries, especially online. Thank you to the dedicated members of our Internet Child Exploitation Unit for their tireless work in protecting our children and supporting victims. This is difficult work being done with professionalism and compassion. This arrest sends a clear message: those who prey on children will be pursued and held accountable.

A great night at the 4th Annual South Asian Collective Gala. More than 800 people came together - a powerful reminder of the strength of community and partnerships. Proud of the SAC team and the impact they continue to make who raised $15,000 for @SevaFoodBank.

Auto theft in Peel is down 50% since 2024. We’ll continue to disrupt organized auto theft through strengthened enforcement measures and multi-sectoral partnerships.
