I recently met someone who told me about a sad incident that happened to his mum about four years ago. She bought a piece of land from a real estate company in early 2021, but in September 2022, she received one of the most shocking pieces of news of her life. The land she had paid for outright was later discovered to be under government acquisition. In other words, the land had already been committed to the state government. It could no longer serve the purpose for which she bought it, and if she had gone ahead to build on it, government could reclaim the land at any time.
