A morning walk along the Thames just south of Henley this morning, and I found this beautiful female Common Clubtail. My last siting of one of these was about ten years ago so I was well pleased. @BDSdragonflies

Great to get both male and female Callicera aurata at Ainsdale NNR, Merseyside today. The bramble flowers did the trick. Made it a 2 Callicera day with the now well established C.rufa in nearby pines @StevenFalk1 @tanyptera @DipteristsForum

I found this fly today which has me stumped. I'm thinking possibly one of the Soldierflies? @StevenFalk1

Although one of our most common Dragonflies, I think a male Banded Demoiselle is hard to beat. Like flying jewels.

22.5 2026. Ophrys insectifera, Kent. Third time lucky. I've tried in 2 previous years to see these in Kent with no success, but they were certainly worth the wait. All in all, a splendid day of orchid hunting, despite the intense heat. #Kent #nativeorchids #ophrys

A mid morning visit to Amersham flood meadows today, and it was great to find the first immature Scarce Blue-tailed Damselflies of the year of the form aurantiaca. Also several Blue-tailed Damselfies of the form violacea.

I spent this morning and early afternoon exploring Burnham Beeches. Surprisingly very little in the way of insects apart from several Rose Chafers and a few Wasp Beetles.
