I read through the proposed amendment, and we have a huge problem for higher value homestead property with the proposed DeSantis Amendment.
Anyone with homestead property values over $250,000 are getting fvcked.
π¨There's zero wording in the Special Session amendment that guarantees raising the tax exemption up to 500,000k property value, as we were told, or for higher property values.
Set date auto tax exemption value for the amendment starts at $150,000 on Jan 2027 and caps at $250,000 on Jan 2028.
Any higher value homestead property requires further legislative action.
β‘οΈThat will never happen.
The amendment as worded is a fraud.
A scam.
π¨An immediate Amendment to the Amendment is required! ALL homestead property values must get a SET Automatic Exemption Date built into the Amendment, so EVERY homestead property WILL reach 100% tax exemption over time, without any further action required.π¨
This is what we asked for.
This is what we were told would happen.
Otherwise, the amendment becomes an unfair unconstitutional discriminatory homestead exemption for SOME low value homestead property, but never for ALL homestead property values as promised.π¨

This blame-the-victim mentality whenever the finger starts pointing at powerful people is exactly what many of us hoped to overcome by exposing things like the Epstein files. But instead, it seems some people only care about victims when it is politically convenient.
Are we really going to advocate for women harmed by Epstein while simultaneously shaming women and spreading falsehoods about their experiences because it benefits someone politically?
