I am not always 💯 positive. But most often, the light wins. ☕️

“Life is a series of pulls back and forth. You want to do one thing, but you are bound to do something else. Something hurts you, yet you know it shouldn't…” So which side wins, I ask? “Love wins. Love always wins.” Good weekend, X ❤️

There will be days when we are not “good people” either by lack of awareness or emotional reactivity, but when given the chance to correct it—always in good faith attempt make it right. Good day ☕️

In The Art of Loving, psychologist and philosopher Erich Fromm, wrote that love is an art. Any form of love BTW. Like any art, you must practice the art everyday until it becomes a mastery. I intend to do so. My first two stripes on my white belt. Walking on this high because I never thought it was possible for someone like me. Good day, X ☕️

“people need me. I fill them. if they can't see me for awhile the get desperate, they get sick. but if I see them too often I get sick. it's hard to feed without getting fed.” - Charles Bukowski, Love is A Dog From Hell- Ah, the contrast of the givers and takers. Makes me appreciate those that add joy to my day this morning. Good day! ❤️

“I get too many phone calls. they seek the creature out. they shouldn’t.” -Charles Bukowski, Love is A Dog From Hell- Modern day Bukowski would probably tell us he hates Microsoft Teams. Good day, X ☕️

New book recommendation: “Some moments of American horror firmly attempt to implicate their observers and participants, morally; others provide relief by pushing it onto others. The first tragedy of Salem is the victims. The second is the unwillingness to learn from their suffering. The devil made me do it, indeed.” -Jeremy Dauber, American Scary- My fascination with gothic/horror literature has never been about the monster itself. Rather the potential in all humans to commit horror. It’s the never the zombie in a post apocalyptic world you have to fear. Instead fear the horror of the human when it fights for survival. ☕️

“The first book of Meditations pays tribute to a number of philosophers from whom Marcus learned, both formally and informally, and he is likely to have studied with or listened to many others.” -Gregory Hays in his introduction to Meditations by Marcus Aurelius- Practice telling people while they are alive and not at their funerals, how much you appreciate their guidance, instruction, and mentorship. Good day ☕️

“When you wake up in the morning, tell yourself: the people I deal with today will be meddling, ungrateful, arrogant, dishonest, jealous and surly…none of them can hurt me. No one can implicate me in ugliness...” -Marcus Aurelius, Meditations- Most of the disappointments when it comes to people is the expectation that they will be like one self. That’s an unrealistic expectation. Best way to love people is to let them BE. ☕️
