That’s an incredible statistic I just heard watching the football. How many Sunderland players are playing at the World Cup this year. 12. Two more than Real Madrid.

Speaking of Radio Everything… another tune coming in the next couple of weeks. Just crossing the t’s and dotting the… lower-case j’s. X

A few of you were asking for the lyrics for my recent track ‘It’s The End Of The World’ by my new project Radio Everything. I’ve put ‘em up on the YouTube video. See it here: youtu.be/HypTZeuzVR4?si=dF03…

Music, when it’s good… bloody hell, it’s dead good, innit.

I’ve been a bit quiet on here lately. BUT FYInfo I’ve got the bones of the next Radio Everything LP in the can (before the first one has come out) and also recorded a fun little covers mini-album. Done a bunch of videos and am looking at live stuff now. Ace times ahead. X

In other news, ‘Legends’ on Netflix is dead good. Steve Coogan’s brilliant. It’s like a less slapstick Slow Horses, if you’ve seen that. Six episodes, ace. X

If you’ve ever been slightly intrigued by the sport of #snooker, now is the time to switch on the World Championship Final. So tense. If you’ve ever just seen it as a boring sport - honestly if you commit to it, it’s like live Risk meets Battleships whilst doing a Rubik’s Cube.

It’s #BandcampFriday and I’ve reduced every album I/we’ve done to £3, in case you missed anything - also the ‘podcast’-type episodes about my first two solo albums are in there, in case you missed it. Loads of ace stuff: chriscatalyst.bandcamp.com eurekamachines.bandcamp.com

Oh Jesus. The snooker tonight. The 20th frame between Neil Robertson and John Higgins was, honestly, poetic. (Bit stoned). (No spoilers as I’m watching it as live) (X)

Oh the snooker is so amazingly brilliant this year. Honestly, if you’ve never watched it - a couple of years ago I convinced my girlfriend into watching a bit, now she is also hooked and watching it together is honestly my favourite part of the week.

Meant to say. Yungblud was great. He’s obviously a force of nature, and what a great voice. The support band ‘The Warning’ were absolutely brilliant too, top stuff. Great big riffs, great tunes. Off to see Creeper tonight. Excited for that. I love going to gigs, me. X

Anyway. I’m going to see Yungblud on Friday as I am ever so ‘down with the kids’. I don’t know a lot of his stuff, so any recommendations would be nice. X

The other thing that nobody ever talks about is that the lauded ‘algorithm’ is proper shit. On a different note, I was looking up candidates in the upcoming local elections, and subsequently have been constantly spammed by Reform (UK right wing party) ever since. Which…

… to me just says that they have the biggest marketing budget (as well as obvious right-wing social media nonsense). Of course, I’m not going to fall for it, but others might, simply because of the way these things work nowadays. It seems to extend into everything.

I’m not angry about the bands doing this. I’m just sad that music/art is less of a meritocracy than it ever has been, prioritising marketing and ‘content’, and and the algorithm doing its best to keep the top 0.1% in the public eye. It’s not new, but it’s worse than ever. Hard.
"Blaming Geese for hiring a TikTok marketing firm is like blaming a cereal brand for paying for shelf space at eye level. Every supermarket charges for placement, and it means the brand with less money ends up on the bottom shelf. That's a legitimate problem, but the answer is to fix how shelves work, not to accuse Cheerios of fraud." consequence.net/2026/04/gees…
