@TTChelps The design changes on subway signage make it harder to quickly get around. Previously I would hurry down the transfer stairs knowing I’m either going east or west, now I have to figure out between Kipling and Kennedy - two stations starting with K (which I never visit)

From a usability point of view, I think the design team is putting consistency of the endpoints as markers above the lived reality that line 2 runs east/west and everyone thinks of it that way.

I realize line 1 with the U shape presents problems especially at Union, but an easy solution would be to combine the two approaches and say, eg, ā€œWestbound / Kiplingā€ and use typography to emphasize the direction. Please reconsider these changes!

We all know our hospitals don’t work and our universities are going bankrupt. The latest: courts don’t work. But thanks to ⁦@fordnation⁩ at least we can get beer at the gas station now. Oh yeah and those Toronto bike lanes! Make those a priority šŸ™„ cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/c…

I want an AI suggestion to distinguish between archive and trash when swiping. It should be obvious that I want to trash an email about an appointment that has passed, but archive the message from my mom wishing me happy birthday. Currently a manual choice. #gmail #AppleAI

I’ll be donating my $200 vote buying cheque from Doug Ford to a hospital. This isn’t his money to give away, it is already our money and it should be used to help people in need or to address the many pressing issues we have in transit and healthcare. #onpoli

This morning I was going to drive to my breakfast meeting because it was early and it was cold. But I was running behind, and Waze was telling me it was going to take 27 minutes. So I hopped on my bike instead and got there in 14 minutes (with very cold hands, I might add). This myth that cyclists are cycling because they have no other options has to be put to rest. I'll let you in on the secret - cycling is a first choice, because it's much faster, easier to park, and super enjoyable to be out and about in the city, as part of a commute. Many of us, when we get on our bikes, are leaving our cars at home.

Ripping up our roads will make people less safe, make traffic worse, and put lives at risk. Full stop. I challenge the Premier to talk to people who have lost loved ones on our roads and hear their stories. It might be hard for the province to do two things at once but, as leaders we have to —tackle congestion AND keep people safe at the same time! As I’ve said before – the congestion in this city is partially the result of the province’s failure to deliver transit projects on time and has led to long construction delays and years of road closures. Stay in your lane, open the Eglinton Crosstown and Finch West LRTs and fix the chaos at Metrolinx.

I hope no one is falling for the @fordnation manufactured exaggerated ā€œcrisisā€ at the @OntScienceCtr. It’s politics. He did it to support the case for moving it and leveraging that move to support selling out Ontario Place to a foreign luxury spa. Ontarios kids deserve better.

When the election comes, remember @fordnation chose to waste hundreds of millions of dollars fast tracking wider booze distribution while our hospitals are in crises and no one can get a family doctor. Would you rather wait for beer access or emergency medicine? #onpoli

We believe SceneScript represents a significant milestone on the path to true AR glasses that will bridge the physical and digital worlds. As we dive deeper into this potential at Reality Labs Research, we’re thrilled at the prospect of how this pioneering approach will help shape the future of AI and ML research. ai.meta.com/blog/scenescript…

Today we’re introducing SceneScript, a novel method for reconstructing environments and representing the layout of physical spaces from @RealityLabs Research. Details āž”ļø bit.ly/3x2cOzh SceneScript is able to directly infer a room’s geometry using end-to-end machine learning and represent it using language. Compared to previous approaches, this results in representations of physical scenes that are compact, complete, interpretable and extensible.
