Threading Polymers—Blends of polymers with microporous particles are crucial for many modern technologies, but quantifying and controlling the threading of polymers is challenging. In their recent work reported in @J_A_C_S, Kaur, DelRe, et al. propose two new strategies. One strategy utilizes NMR to directly monitor polymer chains and quantify their diffusivities. I just won an Early Career Program award from the US Army to fund one of my projects! We’ve now raised over $2mil in external funding in the 2 years since opening my lab. We’re excited to use this money to produce great new materials for both military and civilian applications!
