VBS BEGINS MONDAY! In just two days, Christ Church will welcome nearly 250 excited explorers who will step through the mist into "Rainforest Falls", overflowing with wild waterfalls, towering trees, and colorful creatures. Beneath a canopy of chattering birds and howling monkeys, kids plunge into a lifelong adventure of discovering the nature of God. They’ll explore what it means to be rooted in relationship with God, their creator, a safe place in life’s storms. Special thanks to members of our Christ Church Sacred Worth ministry who assisted in decorating this morning! Want to support VBS but are unable to volunteer? Make a contribution to our Snacktivity Donation Bin. During Snacktivity, our snack break time, kids put together their own fun and VBS themed snack from provided ingredients. Help us collect the items we need for this fun activity! Drop off your Snacktivity donations in the bin in Gathering Hall. Visit ccum.net/vbs to view the updated Snacktivity requested items list.

Over their week-long tour, our high school One Voice choir has been hard at work. They have delighted congregations with their musical gifts and uplifted communities through hard work and tireless service to organizations ensuring our neighbors in western North Carolina or fed, housed, and healthy; organizations like: Bountiful Cities, Bounty & Soul, and Western Carolina Rescue Ministries. Help us celebrate the work of these incredible young people tomorrow at 7 pm when they return to Christ Church for their homecoming concert. We hope to see you there! One Voice Homecoming Concert | Sunday, June 13 | 7 pm | Christ Church

Christ Church Senior Adults enjoyed great food and even better company last Thursday during their Pop-Up Lunch at BJ's Brewhouse! You may recognize many of the attendees as hardworking Annual Conference volunteers, so thank you, Gina, for organizing a restful event where folks could sit and just enjoy a time of fellowship.

Our One Voice choir made an early start this morning for Asheville, NC! This talented group of teens will be performing at 5 churches in NC and KY during their annual choir tour, June 9-15, and they were eager to get the show on the road. Beyond sharing their musical gifts, choir members will spend much of their time volunteering and serving communities still recovering from the devastating effects of Hurricane Helene. Please keep One Voice and chaperones in your prayers as they put their faith in action and share how they are becoming living proof of God's love. Join us at 7 pm on Sunday, June 14 for their triumphant homecoming concert!

The laughter and fellowship overflowed Friday evening at Kentucky Shakespeare's free performance of "As You Like It" in Central Park! The talented team that organizes this annual festival has really outdone themselves this year. The show is a triumph! Thank you to Producing Artistic Director, Matt Wallace, for leading our special behind-the-scenes tour and granting us a peak behind the curtain. At a loss for words, we might have to borrow a phrase from "As You Like It" to most aptly describe this production: “O wonderful, wonderful, and most wonderful wonderful! And yet again wonderful, and after that, out of all hooping.” ― William Shakespeare, "As You Like It"

After 4 bustling days of Annual Conference activities, we owe a huge debt of gratitude to the volunteers that kept the conference running. You greeted hundreds of attendees, served nearly 400 hundred meals, and answered countless questions, all with a welcoming and gracious spirit. Special thanks to the Mulligans Faith Formation class and Christ Church Sacred Worth ministry who also ensured that over 22 lbs of plastic lunch containers, bottles, and serving items were recycled rather than going to a landfill. We are so grateful to each and every volunteer who helped make the 2026 Kentucky Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church such a rousing success! Visit kyumc.org for more information and to view conference sessions.

Happy #WorshipWednesday! 🎶 This week the Chancel Choir and soloist Gordan Crawford moved us with the classic gospel song, "Lord I Know I Been Changed", arranged by Bruce More & Jim Regin. Dr. Daniel Blosser conducted with Matthew Vanover on piano. May this music lift your spirit and inspire you to join our mission to become living proof of God's love. Visit ccum.net to watch Rev. Christ Church staff members and their families had an out-of-the-park good time last Thursday at Slugger Field cheering on the @LouisvilleBats! Though some members of the Christ Church team seemed more interested in stealing hearts than stolen bases, the fellowship was a grand slam!

We are honored to host the Kentucky Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church June 1-3! The North District Choir energized the 500 attendees first thing this morning with inspirational musical performances. North District Superintendent, Rev. Burney welcomed all in attendance, and Bishop Graves commemorated the 70th anniversary of the UMC's ordination of female pastors while reminding us of the importance of the work being done over the next few days. Thank you to the many volunteers generously giving their time and talents to make this special event possible! Visit kyumc.org/ac2026 to view the opening worship service and upcoming sessions. #FanTheFlame #KYAC2026

THE PASTOR'S PICK | June 30 | 10 - 11:30 am | Room 250 Join Pastor Eric for the next installment of The Pastor's Pick! June's book, The Anatomy of Peace: Resolving the Heart of Conflict by the Arbinger Institute, is a bestseller that explores the root cause of conflict, which it identifies as a mindset of self-deception, or being "in the box." It teaches readers how to recognize their own contribution to conflict, even when they feel like the victim, and provides practical tools to shift from an "inward" to an "outward" mindset to achieve lasting resolution in personal, professional and global situations. To register and order the book, visit ccum.net/classes

The Senior Adult Ministries group enjoyed a wonderful outing to Flame Run Glass Studio and Gallery on May 21! Attendees explored vibrant displays and watched Brook White, Jr. and his team skillfully create stunning blown glass artwork right before their eyes. @FlameRun After a little shopping in the gallery store, where the wide array of colors and unique glass forms made choosing just a few pieces both exciting and challenging, the group wrapped up the day with a delicious lunch at Kingfish—making for a fun and memorable experience filled with art, fellowship, and great conversation.
