Turns out the letterer for class 2-b has my brand of toilet humor lurking a a beast in the depths of his dark bowels too. Teamwork makes the dreamwork, even in regards to literal shit.

I love Class 2-B and working on localization my translator and sometimes letterer if we are stuck so that people can have the same reading experience in English. This series is hard work and a group effort that makes the magic happen! Even if we are localizing literal crap haha

Sorachi Sensei's author comments are probably one of the biggest things I missed from him.

Saw someone wondering why we went with Commode in Class 2-B. The Japanese is just Toilet. The goal for the localization is to give readers the same level of humor in English as the Japanese. Toilet was really plain if we just translated it literally. If we kept it in Japanese the joke would be lost. We had a list of ideas that were....let's just say certain eyes saw it before we got the okay. Commode was the top choice because of the same ka sound as the Japanese. At the end of the day....you're reading a manga about poop and toilets by Sorachi Sensei either way though. It's funny. At least I find it funny. Editing chapter 4 at 4AM and I wish I could share some of the stuff that has me laughing so hard. But I can't.

There is no fucking agenda. We just want to live our fucking lives like everyone else and be left the fuck alone at the end of the day. That being said, lol volume 16 of Kingdom's script will be in next week and while I know what's happens and Adrienne and I were confirming calendar dates for what is to come...I will still cry again. Sorry, not sorry. But I do feel like Wang Yi's spirit does live on in Xin though in some way...like literally his goal is to be (like) Wang Yi. Inoue Sensei's art of Xin has Wang Yi behind Xin, 20 years after the manga's release. A character who dies in volume 16 out of 79 or so at this point. I kind of want to think Inoue Sensei has the same line of thinking and other people do too because I don't talk to Kingdom fans since it was always that thing no one I knew cared about... But from really early on, I've interpreted Wang Yi as the guiding force for Xin's ambitions even after Wang Yi's death. Xin even makes it clear that he wouldn't touch Wang Yi's glaive until he felt like he was worthy of it. My translator and I for vol 16 both double checked the manga and historical records to confirm the year for Wang Yi's death was correct for the BCE conversion. The manga itself already did that but...never hurts to double check.... (For those watching at home... Xin=Shin and Wang Yi=Ou Ki)

I remember editing the "Bakugo death" chapter and the like...inner monologue and montage of things leading up to it in My Hero and I was crying and literally yelling out loud like, "no fucking way is this happening," kinds of things. Like...we do care. Or at least I do...

Donno why fans think manga professionals don't care about what we work on as I literally just admitted to crying while editing. I've cried, laughed, maybe gotten nauseated from too much gore cuz I'm weak. But every series I work on and have worked on have had their moments.

I will admit to crying while editing manga. And I am not sorry for that. Hell, the last chapter of Magu-chan made me cry.
