Yesterday, after reviewing some of the use cases around
@ikadotxyz tech, a truly game changing piece of SoulSeed infrastructure fell into conception.
First, a little review.. on the platform, when you create a game, make a mod, make a shop, make an item for sale, make a dungeon for someone else's game, make a map, own a boss who fights, own a
@PawtatoFinance land which is used in a game (use your imagination) all of those things represent possible revenue streams. This is something we've already talked about in the past. It's the UGC (User Generated Content) part of SoulSeed akin to Roblox and other platforms.
Now for the cool part... Ika enables us to set rules and specific permissions around dWallets, meaning we can tokenize those revenue streams and put them into a Revenue Stream Marketplace (which we will build). So you will be able to sell and trade future revenue from those things you create, in a very atomic way. Want to buy someone's first 15% of revenue? Every Monday night's revenue for 7 weeks? Once you own it, you could even trade it to someone else.
Why is this important? You may not need to wait for 100k users to come and play your game. If it's a good game and someone believes in you early, they may ask to support it by buying some of the future revenue NOW. We'll provide the fun game templates, you can customize them and make them your own.
How does this change things? If you're a Creator, or the type who wants to run very cleverly designed contests/tournaments, etc, it potentially gives you revenue EARLY, while allowing other people to support your creations and future success. This creates a flywheel effect of aligned interest. Those who own a portion of the future revenue will very likely help promote it to maximize their own yield. It adds an entire new way for people to get involved in entertainment, and support the most creative among us.. not just those who own giant accounts. It means new event-driven dynamics and revenue to keep content fresh for games people love, and enable the creation of more.
Of course, entire groups of people could be on the other side of that ownership, each one pitching in a little to be part of the bigger picture. Once you've demonstrated what you can do, and have some True Believers in your ranks, it frees you up to do what you do best, creating or being a good steward over a revenue-generating asset.
It's applicable to any manner of User Generated Content, not just games. Anything which has a potential future revenue stream. We will focus on games and gaming content, but the foundation will be laid for much, much more. The future is rapidly approaching, and it's looking pretty dang good.
