#SaveRedfieldCinema being developed into 42co-living pods. Largely intact 130 seat ART DECO CINEMA with potential to be a community hub in #BS5#Bristol#Cinema
*Full Campaign Update*
Hello to all our amazing supporters!
We wish the Crafty Egg well and encourage them next to meaningfully engage the under-served communities of Redfield and St George in developing their offering. The building has served the area for over 100 years š§µ1/13
Landrose have appealed the decision over their HMO plans to the central government Planning Inspectorate.
They can do this due to delays with Bristol City Councilās planning process. The decision will now be taken centrally and NOT at a Bristol planning committee meeting. š§µ1/12
We believe Landroseās plans have issues around the lack of adequate parking provision and the lack of a housing type mix, which is inappropriate for the area. 11/12
However, we fear the Planning Inspectorate will approve the application under political pressure to reach gov target of 1.5m homes. This will be a litmus test to see how @labour want to develop new housing. Will it be with good development or just development at all cost? 12/12
Hi Everyone. We wanted to let you all know that immediately after our last post a new buyer for the cinema came forward.
They have experience with buildings of this age and condition, are keen to purchase the building, and work with us to bring the cinema back to life. 1/3
They are ready to buy St Georgeās Hall from Landrose and have the cash on hand to do so - protecting the asset for future generations.
But, having repeatedly tried to contact Landrose over August and September they have so far been ignored. 2/3
Should the outcome of the proposed 42 bed HMO be recommended for refusal by planning officers again, we hope Landrose would then finally be willing to sell.

Thanks everyone for your continued support! 3/3
The boards on the front of St George's Hall have come down to reveal the doors. The @thecraftyegg is obviously nearing completion. So we know there's no risk of the frontage being derelict... BUT we don't want to lose a Community Asset forever, only to have it replaced by a HMO!
Here we go again...!
š£OBJECT NOW!š£
The largest building on Church Rd, with a 1912 cinema inside, is again under threat. After two failed planning apps to turn the building into a 42 bed house of multiple occupancy (HMO), Landrose just submitted another: pa.bristol.gov.uk/online-appā¦
- The ācinemaā with no space for a screening room is another unclear plan and now there is a cafe in place we question the integrity of the plans. 9/10
