Japanese people who go to watch matches overseas always come as a full package. Picking up trash and partying with the opposing supporters until the end.
Just like during the WBC. When I see them properly cleaning up the garbage after the match and singing and dancing together with rival fans in the festivities, as a fellow Japanese I think Japanese people are really great. I am so glad to be Japanese.
This is the positive side of Japans strong social conformity and collectivism that is deeply rooted in Japanese society. It is a strong awareness of valuing harmony and being considerate to others.
This public spirit is exactly what makes Japanese culture so special and valuable to people from overseas. 🇯🇵
