Coker Rd from Kelly Rd to Rice Bay will be closed tomorrow, May 9, due to rising water levels on Black Sturgeon Lake. The closure affects all vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Once water levels decrease, the road will be inspected before reopening. kenora.ca/en/news/coker-road…

Due to high to extreme forest fire hazard conditions, the MNR will be implementing a Restricted Fire Zone (RFZ) for a portion of the Northwest Region (zones 2, 3, 6, 7, 8). Details and a precise boundary of the RFZ in effect will be shared shortly. Visit: ontario.ca/fireupdates
The wildland fire hazard is extreme across most of the Northwest Region. Forested areas are extremely dry, and multiple fires are occurring daily. Many fires are human-caused, and those responsible will be held accountable. More info here: ontario.ca/page/how-prevent-…

The precautionary boil water advisory is rescinded effective February 28, 2025 for 470 Lakeview Drive and west including homes and businesses in Norman, Keewatin, Highway 17 West, and Darlington Drive.
Please be advised that the water main break on Norman Drive has been fully repaired by our crews overnight.
Norman Drive and the surrounding roads are now open to traffic.
The Precautionary Boil Water Advisory shall remain in effect until a notice of rescind is issued.
