Racism in the world of content creation exists and many people don't want to acknowledge it because it makes them uncomfortable. Most of it comes in the form of dogwhistling. I can watch a non-POC for hours with 5k people and not see a single derogatory message. If I, or many others around my size or less go live, then I can see it as often as every hour.
To those that think "what about..iShowSpeed, KaiCenat?" I believe being larger makes people show more "love", but I also report many accounts a month calling them such things as "monkey, ape," and other disappointing things to see.
What I deal with on a consistent level myself are death threats, self-harm encouragement, speaking down on my intelligence, comparing me to random black men "you look like this guy"- first time chatters" (both dogwhistles), and much more.
The point of this post is to share a bit more in terms of educating those unaware. People that are seen as "different" or "not fitting the ideal creator" go through a lot. It's best to be understanding and more supportive.
