Racism in the world of content creation exists and many people don't want to acknowledge it because it makes them uncomfortable. Most of it comes in the form of dogwhistling. I can watch a non-POC for hours with 5k people and not see a single derogatory message. If I, or many others around my size or less go live, then I can see it as often as every hour. To those that think "what about..iShowSpeed, KaiCenat?" I believe being larger makes people show more "love", but I also report many accounts a month calling them such things as "monkey, ape," and other disappointing things to see. What I deal with on a consistent level myself are death threats, self-harm encouragement, speaking down on my intelligence, comparing me to random black men "you look like this guy"- first time chatters" (both dogwhistles), and much more. The point of this post is to share a bit more in terms of educating those unaware. People that are seen as "different" or "not fitting the ideal creator" go through a lot. It's best to be understanding and more supportive. Thank you for reading.

Girls have it way harder in the DBD streaming space, Not only do they have to deal with a lot more unwanted trash comments, but they also don't get taken seriously as much, which makes creating quality content harder. The biggest creators are almost exclusively male for a reason.

If another person, who was a different skin colour and gender was to do what Lilli did, no one really would bat an eyelid at it and play it off. But because she’s a black woman, it’s seen as aggressive. It ain’t fair on her and many others women.

This is only another prime example of how difficult Lilli has it on a daily. I don’t talk often but because she’s woman and a person of colour, she’ll receive awful remarks on a daily basis just existing. I don’t receive nearly as much hate as Lilli does daily. It needs to stop

I do believe this feels like a kick in the teeth for a lot of “smaller content creators”. There shouldn’t be a requirements like certain following for this especially locking Twitch Shirts behind it too. This creates a massive segregation between a lot of content creators
