California’s community choice aggregators (CCAs) recently gathered in Sacramento for the 2026 California Community Choice Association (CalCCA) annual conference, where attendees connected with industry peers, explored emerging strategies and examined key renewable energy issues and opportunities impacting communities statewide.
The conference, which celebrated CalCCA’s 10th anniversary, drew more than 1,000 CCA executives and staff members for a series of interactive workshops, expert-led sessions and panel conversations focused on key industry topics, including energy reliability requirements, financing mechanisms, procurement obstacles and strategies for accessing available funding resources.

Each May, Clean Power Alliance celebrates National Small Business Month, an opportunity to shine a spotlight on the entrepreneurs and dedicated business leaders who power local economies and drive innovation across the country.
First established by the U.S. Small Business Administration in 1963, National Small Business Month was created to highlight the critical role small businesses play in shaping communities and driving national economic growth. Making up an overwhelming 99.9% of all businesses in the United States, the 33 million small businesses nationwide employ nearly half of the private-sector workforce and have generated approximately 65% of net new jobs over the past 20 years.
Across Southern California, that story is especially visible.

What was once an expanse of unused industrial rooftop in the City of Carson is now creating enormous value to the local community by generating 1.32-megawatts of renewable energy provided at reduced rates to approximately 500 local households.
The energy capacity created at this community solar facility will directly benefit customers through CPA’s Power Share program, which is designed to reduce energy costs for income-qualified households—especially renters and families who typically don’t have access to local renewable energy.
